This artwork, Days of Pandemia, painted in March 2021, is mostly acrylic with some mixed media incorporated into the paint. The painting began as drippings from other artworks with the intention that these would be used for my Love Seedling Series Artworks. While working with these marks thinking of growing more love in the world thoughts of what our days are like during Pandemic times resulted in this artwork incorporating the feelings of swimming and floating with a head above water, a sailboat for sailing on calm waters away from the shores to stay away from gatherings as if we have personal islands, mask wearing, praying, growing with love, long paths to safety, feeling of life being disjointed, and the days on the calendar shifting but many things remaining the same day after day, shifting only slightly., trying to get organized but order still askew, zoom screens, haze of unknowns, etc., etc.
The painting began from paint drips from other painting projects. The canvas and all of its recycled paint was intended to be utilized for my Love seedling series which is incorporated here.
Many things were taken into account when I used an automatic painting method and trusted my feelings of where it needed to go.
