I used colored pencils and shading pencils as my medium. My inspiration was my faith. I wanted to do a self-portrait and then depict various objects that represent my faith such as my bible, wine and bread, a narrow path, the universe (galaxy), peace, love and strength to name a few. I worked on the self portrait area first. I challenged myself with portraying the flannel shirt. Then I began filling in the background with the various "essence objects" of my faith.
